Flights: Of course travel insurance is the best protection when taking holidays
Should anything go wrong with your luggage you want to make sure it’s easy for it to be returned to you.

Therefore it’s wise to consider carefully labelling all your bags  – add your name, address and mobile contact number.

For further peace of mind regarding baggage, try taking a savvy approach to packing.

If you’re travelling with someone else, why not split your clothes between the two suitcases?

That way you have at least some things to wear if your bag goes missing.

Of course, travel insurance is the best protection when taking holidays.

Sant commented: “As soon as you book your holiday – even if it’s within your own country – it’s important that you take out insurance to ensure you and your possessions are protected.

“When taking out a policy, pay close attention to the baggage cover, which will cover you if your baggage is lost, damaged or stolen while you’re travelling.

“Some insurers only cover up to 1,000 dollars worth of items, so it’s worth checking that you have the right level of cover for your needs.

“Keep belongings close and in sight, and avoid leaving your luggage unattended at all times.

“If you do leave your luggage unattended, this could void the terms of your policy and you may not receive a payout in the event of a claim.”Tags: ,
